Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Groups
Dialectical Behavior Therapy Group is a structured skill-based therapy group designed to help individuals manage emotions, control reactions/behavior in stressful situations, and improve relationships. It is based on cognitive behavioral principles and it combines mindfulness.
In a group setting, you will learn how to recognize, understand and control intense emotions, reduce mood swings, and emotional outbursts. You will also learn tools to cope with stress, crisis, and difficult situations without resorting to self-destructive behaviors. You will learn mindfulness skills: how to be in the present moment, reduce anxiety, over thinking, and impulsive reactions.
The group setting provides you with a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can learn and practice these new skills and receive reinforcement and support from peers and facilitators of the group.
Group runs Monday to Friday.
