Cognitive- Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Substance Use Groups

⬅ Back to Wellness Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Substance Use is a treatment approach that helps individuals recognize and change unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors related to drug and alcohol use.

You will learn how to recognize the situations, emotions, and thoughts that lead to substance use, how to handle cravings, stress and difficult emotions without turning to substances, and to challenge negative thoughts.

You will also build problem solving skills to deal with high-risk situations and how to anticipate and cope with triggers to relapse making long term recovery more sustainable. In a group setting, you will learn these skills together, you feel supported, and more empowered to take control of your behavior instead of feeling powerless over addiction.
