Boozhoo,

My name is Louis Young and I am the Knowledge Keeper here at Quest Health. I was born and raised in Bloodvein First Nation and attended Indian Day School in Bloodvein before later attending Assiniboia Residential School in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I went on to earn a three-year Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandon University, majoring in Native Studies with a minor in Religion.

Throughout my career, I have gained valuable experience in various roles. I’ve worked with New Careers, Education and Training, and served as a Band Government Advisor with Indian Affairs in Thompson, Manitoba. I also held two terms as Chief of Bloodvein First Nation and worked as a researcher in Bloodvein as well. Additionally, I served as a Cultural Support Advisor in the Indian Residential School program at Southeast Resource Development Council.

Now, I bring my knowledge and experience to Quest Health. I’m passionate about land-based activities, healing, and cultural teachings, while also enjoying working outdoors and facilitating groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and sharing circles. I look forward to continuing my connection with the Bunibonibee community.

Miigwech!
